Tim Mars (born 8 January 1978 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor, director, stand up comedian, and former musician.

Tim Mars was born Timothy Joseph Mars in Chicago, Illinois on January 8, 1978. His mother is a school teacher, and his father is a retired purchasing agent. He was raised mostly in Lexington, Kentucky and attended Tates Creek High School, where he was voted "Class Clown".
Taking up an interest in music as early as grade school, Mars studied the drums, guitar, and the saxophone. In high school, he performed in various battle of the bands as a rock drummer and vocalist. In college, he began to rap and produce hip-hop albums for local acts under the pseudonym, Paco. In conjunction with the hip-hop group, C.I.A., Mars released a local radio hit in Lexington called, "South Limestone."
In 2001, Mars received a B.A. in Telecommunications from the University of Kentucky.
In 2002, he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a professional career in entertainment. Within one month in the City of Angeles, he began performing stand up comedy at various bars and night clubs. Quickly moving up the comedy ranks, Mars began headlining shows nationally within three years.
Mars made his professional directorial debut in 2006, directing the "Hope on the Other Side" [1] music video for the Los Angeles band, Slow Car Crash.
He has been featured in the Seattle Comedy Competition [2] and has been a guest on National Lampoon Comedy Radio.
He appeared on MTV's "Paris Hilton's My New BFF" posing as a paparazzi reporter, and appeared on the first season of VH1's "Tough Love" as a comedian. He also worked in the producing team of "Candy Girls" for the E! Network.[3]
In 2009 Mars returned to his musical roots and teamed up with fellow comedian Ben Gleib and music producer and artist Kii Arens to form the music group Fun Mtn (pronounced Fun Mountain). They released a hip hop track entitled "Beats In My Van." [4] The music video featured a cameo appearance by legendary stand-up comedian and Roast Master Jeff Ross, playing the role of "Dirty Uncle Al."
In April 2010 Mars released a stand-up comedy album titled "Hello It's The Martian" with the record label New Wave Dynamics.[5]
In 2011 he performed stand-up comedy on "Man Up, Stand Up", a show hosted by comedian Adam Hunter airing on the cable network MavTV. [6]
